The Committee Membership Secretary is responsible for allocating places at our preschool. The Membership Secretary can be contacted through the "Contact Us" page of this web site; in the Grove Parish Newsletter; and is on the Committee Notice Board in the entrance lobby of our preschool.
Children new to the setting will generally start during the full-term following reaching their 2nd birthday. Initially children are recommended to start on two sessions per week in the afternoons, but if there are spaces available, it may be possible to start on three or four sessions. As the child's confidence increases, and at the discretion of both parents and staff, the child will be offered more sessions.
Those children who attain the age of three during the school year will either:
(a) be offered up to a maximum of five morning sessions (if spaces are available)
(b) be offered up to a maximum of five afternoon sessions.
At the start of each September, all afternoon children old enough to be on the Foundation Stage Curriculum (age 3 and above) will be offered a place on the morning sessions and be offered up to five sessions per week.
Those children who attain Foundation Stage age during the year but are unable to move down to the morning sessions through lack of space will nevertheless start working towards Foundation Stage Learning Objectives within smaller groups in the afternoon classes. The higher staff - child ratio in the afternoon classes is specifically aimed at this.
You can add your child's name to our waiting list from birth, although please remember to update us on any change of address or telephone number.
During the term prior to your child's starting date, the Membership Secretary will contact you to arrange a 1 hour visit to a preschool session. You can then decide whether or not you would like to take up a place with us.
